Binder Park Zoo

Grandma took us to the Binder Park Zoo today. We had a great time with her on our last Wednesday of the summer. Hopefully we will be able to continue the tradition next summer. I know that the kids and I will both miss our Wednesday with Grandma over the school year.

Emmy with her face painted like a giraffe.

On our tram ride over to "Africa" and proof that Perry was with us since he never makes it into any of the pictures.

On the carousel ride, Emmy is hiding in middle.

The childrens zoo had lots of different things to take the kids picture with, this was only one of the many cute ones.

Perry is 4 months!

Perry had his 4 month check up yesterday. The doctor says that he looks great. He weighed 12 pounds 9 ounces and was 24 1/2 inches long. He is a little guy! Perry has definitely been happier lately, although he still makes Chris or I hold him all evening (preferably while standing and bouncing). Perry gives us lots of smiles throughout the day, however I couldn't get him to smile for the camera this month.

I Finally Did it...

It took me almost three years but I finally did it, I cut Emmy's hair. Of course it was just a trim to even it up and you can hardly even tell that she had her hair cut! She was such a good girl! She was very excited to get it cut and she sat perfectly still the entire time. It only took a few minutes and the whole time I was thinking why am I paying someone to do this, I could easily cut her hair myself. Maybe I'll do it next time! I wanted someone else to cut it so it seemed more official and if I was cutting it how would I take pictures!

Happy Birthday Chris!

Chris celebrated his 29th birthday on Saturday. We spent the day in Saugatuck and then came home to open presents, bake cupcakes, and grill out.

Emmy and Kaden both had to try on the glasses!

Weekend Fun!

On Saturday, we went to Saugatuck for the day after we picked up Kaden and Emmy (thanks grandma!). We had a great time, even though the kids didn't want to shop as much as I did. I think that I will have to go back with some girlfriends, minus the shorty's that are continually asking when we are going to get ice cream.

Sunday we spent the day at "Grannys", so that we could spend time with Breanna before she left for college.

Today we went to Millenium Park. It was the perfect day for the beach since it was so hot. This is a picture of Emmy showing me her rock collection.

Ahoy Mateys!

The kids and I went to Cody's 4th birthday party last week. We had a great time pretending to be pirates, going on treasure hunts, and launching water balloons.

What a cute pirate!
The birthday boy Cody looks like he spotted his pirate ship birthday cake!

We went to Chicago on Sunday and Monday. We had a great time packed full of activities. We went to the Lincoln Park Zoo, The Rain Forest Cafe, Millenium Park, Navy Pier, and The Field Museum. The kids are are pretty tired and so are their parents!!

Grand Haven

Grandpap had his boat slipped in Grand Haven this weekend. So, on Saturday we spent the day out there. We went out to lunch at Snug Habor, went for a boat ride, played mini golf, and had ice cream!! It was a fun day!

Chris, Kaden, and Emmy all jumped off the boat to go swimming in Spring Lake. Emmy really surprised me when she jumped right in without hesitation!
Perry sleeping through all of the fun
Kaden was really into playing mini golf. He couldn't wait to get to the next hole. Emerson would usually just putt it one time and then pick it up and place it in the hole
Perry was giving Chris putting tips!

Perry's Christening

Perry was christened Sunday by Father Ernie. All of our kids have been christened by him at St. Paul's. Perry was so cute during the ceremony. When Father Ernie would talk to him, he would smile so big!
Perry was pretty much done at this point. This is Perry with us, Father Ernie, and his Godparents Haley and Nick.
An attempt at a family photo with all 5 of us!
Perry in the family christening gown that has been worn by all of us.

We celebrated "Pop Pop's" 75th birthday, along with Perry's christening afterwards at Granny's. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time!

Coast Guard Festival

Grandma and Grandpa Douma and Uncle Charles and Aunt Rebecca came to town this weekend to visit. On Satuday morning we headed out to Grand Haven to go to the Coast Guard Festival.

Kaden and Charles were ready with their bucket for candy!

Kaden was very excited about Coast Guard Festival this year, since we wants to be a Coast Guard helicopter pilot when he grows up. He enjoyed being able to tour the big coast guard cutters!
