Summer Days

We have been having a great summer

eating smores..

lounging in pools..

picking all sorts of fruits and veggies..

jumping in lakes...

catching big fish...

playing in our underwear (okay maybe that is just Perry)

perfecting our dive...

seeing movies with our cousins and friends...

and playing in the sand.  

We have had an awesome summer so far and I hope that you have too.  Maybe I will be able to go back and post about all of our adventures but for now you just get a couple of pictures of what our summer has been like so far!

One Ring Circus

We had a great weekend out in Grand Haven. Although it wasn't the best weather we made the best of it. We ate ice cream. played mini-golf, went to the park, and watched the musical fountains. On Sunday, we went to the circus at Harbor Island. It was a really good time. I had never been to a small traveling circus, just the big one that comes to the arena every year. It was such a different experience seeing the circus up close. Before the show the kids rode ponies and during intermission Kaden and Chris rode Lisa the elephant and Emerson had her face painted by the trapeze artist. It was a great way to spend one of our last summer weekends!

Millenium Park

We went to Millenium park today for our "Wednesday w/ Grama". We had a great time, even though we couldn't swim at the beach b/c the bacteria count was too high in the water. We spent time at the Splash Pad, played in sand, and checked out the awesome playground.

Lions, Tigers, and Bears....Oh My!!

This year we decided to get a membership to the zoo. We mainly bought it so that Kaden and Emmy would get a discount and 1st choice for the fun camps they have during the summer. But unfortunately all of the 3 year old spots were filled right away, so the kids didn't get to go this year. Hopefully I will be able to get both of them into a camp for next year. We have been able to take full advantage of having a membership, since we have been to the zoo a lot this summer. Here are some pictures from our visits.

Summer Fun!

We have been so busy having fun this summer that I haven't really posted any pictures. Here are a few from a trip to Millenium park and from Father's day.

Strawberry Fields Forever

On Saturday we went strawberry picking at Krupp's Farm. I have never been strawberry picking before so I didn't really know what to expect. We had such a great time that we ended up picking 13 pounds of strawberries!!

They even had a small petting zoo and the kids were able to feed some animals.

We will definitely do it again next year. Now, I am off to figure out what to do with all of those berries. So far I have made lots of jam ( a first for me), frozen a lot of them, made strawberry shortcake, and had strawberries on everything from ice cream to pancakes. I probably won't run out of strawberries until it is time to go picking again next year.
